DENVER Colorado

DENVER TURNVEREIN

We are centrally located at 1570 Clarkson, six blocks east of the Capitol Building and one block north

The Denver Turnverein is a membership organization; the home of four major dance communities (Lindy, Salsa, Tango, West Coast Swing) and a chorus. Many nights there are over a hundred people, from novices to instructors, dancing together.

. Our 5,000 sq. foot ballroom, is a favorite spot for dances, concerts and other moderately sized social gatherings.

NEW YORK CITY

Gemini Lounge -  221 Second Avenue (between 13th & 14th Streets), NYC.  212-254-5260.  Tuesdays after 10:00 PM are samba nights.  Showtime after 11:00 PM.  Call club for other nights with latin music.

Gonzales Y Gonzales - 625 Broadway (between Bleeker & Houston), NYC.   212-473-8787.  Live bands on certain nights playing a mix of latin music, some salsa.   Depending on the night, especially on the weekends, this club can be very crowded, with pretty chaotic dancing.   G & G has a very popular bar scene, and a very eclectic crowd and charged atmosphere.   I have heard that Wednesday nights are less crowded, and sometimes enjoyable for dancers, with some OK dancers on the floor, and usually a few dancing "On 2".  And sometimes, a group of very good dancers comes.   But you may wish to bring partner(s) just to be sure you'll have some mambo company.
