Soar into the all new 2005-2006 Playhouse season with this all singing, all dancing extravaganza that brings alive the big band music of the 1930s and 40s with contemporary style. “Swing!” is two hours of pure joy. A mix of classic songs and over 30 tour de force eye popping dance numbers- some comic, some romantic, some nostalgic. “Swing!” also features spectacular vocal performances. The entire show is driven by the dynamic sound of a hot swing band. This season opener will lift you right out of your seat - guaranteed! “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!”

Venues: Thursday's check-in and welcome dance, half of the workshops, and Friday and Saturday night after-hours will be held at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom. All contests, half of the workshops, and the Friday evening dance will be held at the Eagles Club on 24th & Douglas. Saturday night's festivities will be held outdoors at the Lewis & Clark Landing on 6th and Douglas Streets near Rick's Cafe Boatyard. Omaha Corn-Eating Contest: More than just a contest, this is a whole evening of entertainment. This free outdoor Saturday evening event features live blues music, BBQ by McKenna's and a beer garden by Cornhusker Beverage Mart. The corn-eating contest, now in it's third year draws excitement from dancers and non-dancers of all ages. The event is held at the beautiful new Lewis and Clark landing on the Missouri Riverfront.
